St. Patrick :)

Born in England arguably in the late 4th century A.D., St. Patrick was captured by pirates as a child and brought to Ireland. During his enslavement, he was called to Christianity and escaped his captors after six years. He returned to Ireland as a missionary. He is annually honored on March 17.

Missing her ...

This picture is an old one (missing two of our peeps), but it reminds me that she was, quietly,
always strength. The matriarch. The one who was always on your side, who never gave up,
who was always there no matter what. She always loved. Still does.

I'm not sure I could've said it better than on FB: "One year ago today. One long, missing you so much, year. "And love rolls on" Momma, just like you raised us. Living, loving, laughing, crying, rebuilding a new normal, wishing you were here for this or that, missing your voice and your wisdom and your hugs and just you. You'd be so proud because we keep moving forward, even on days we don't feel like it. We honor your life and we honor God in that way. I can't help but think it's just a blink for you in heaven, where there is no time and where you live in unending joy, unending! Amazing. So, we are choosing joy here, not perfectly, but joy. I can feel you smiling at that. We miss you every day Momma. Every day. I love you."

Parenting ...

"He will feed his flock like a Shepherd. He will carry the lambs in his arms, holding them close to his heart. He will gently lead the mother sheep with their young."  -Isaiah 58:11 (NLT)
"He will feed His fold like a Shepherd. He will gather together His lambs - the weak and the wobbly ones - into His arms. He will carry them close to his bosom; and tenderly lead like a shepherd the mother of her lambs."      -Isaiah 58:11 (Voice)

Angels ... a few thoughts

When I think of angels the Lord sends to fight on my behalf, I think this. This, my friends, is a warrior. This dude is the victor regardless of what he is up against because he is in the Lord's army! This is who God, the Ruler of All Things, sends to fight on our behalf. It's pretty awesome!

The Bible mentions angels 290 times (NIV). They are His messengers. They follow His direction, make no mistake about that. There are those who didn't and were removed from heaven. They are, by status, lower than us. They do His bidding and are NOT to be worshipped. And, it is fascinating to study all the Lord has them do.

Here are but a few examples of all the above:

"And the Lord sent an angel, who annihilated all the fighting men and the commanders and officers in the camp of the Assyrian king. So he withdrew to his own land in disgrace." 2 Chronicles 32:21a
"I will send an angel ..." (Exodus 33:2) and "my angel will go before you." (Exodus 32:34). These are just two examples of the many times in the Bible the Lord sends His angels.
And we, brothers and sisters, must also be aware for the Bible warns ... "for satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." 2 Corinthians 11:14
"And, do not worship angels." Colossians 2:18
"Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?" Hebrews 1:14
Here is what I know, they work for Him, they do His bidding and, often times that is on my behalf. And, if they look even a wee bit like the picture above, have mercy on those who oppose Him!
