Trees

"I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your heart through faith. And, I pray that you being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord's holy people to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge - that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God." Ephesians 3:16-19


Our girls are tree-climbers. They LOVE to climb trees. They LOVE Swiss Family Robinson ... now that is a tree house! And, when the opportunity came to climb a really big tree, well, we stopped the car and jumped out and did it. I'm not sure the girls realized the enormity of the tree, but, brave girls that they are, they went for it!


The tree! Wondering how old it is. Has to be centuries. Wonder how many kids over the centuries have climbed it and sat in it and read books sitting in it or played pirate and made it the ship or played other fun games or just hid out. Or, how many travellers, weary from walking, sat under it's shade? Very cool!

That's really high up ... you really can't tell by the photo, but it was a scary height, even from my perspective on the ground.

And, oh so many branches to explore. This tree covered an entire lot!

A brave mommy award goes to you. We have a tree in our backyard and the kids love climbing in it. The branches on our tree are far less sturdy than the ones your daughters climbed on, but mine don't seem to notice that. I use to let them climb in the tree, but my flinching became too much for me so now (especially since they are getting bigger and heavier), I always try to redirect their attention to something else more fun to do in the backyard. The next time I see a tree like that, maybe we will also pull to the side of the road and I’ll let them climb.

oh, i SO want to climb that tree!!! and it even has a branch stairs touching the ground!! cooL!
