On our trip, when we were hiking, our daughters automatically started looking for signs of God's heart in nature. This is a great treasure we learned from our friend Sharilyn at Heart Rock Life. We also saw a rock that all of us thought looked like Africa. Africa is near to our heart for several reasons right now ... our sweet Root friends are adopting from Ethiopia, Africa, and we are just too excited to be meeting their sweet babes and to be loving on them. Our sweet friend, Miss Kimberli is involved in ministry connecting kids in the US with kids in an orphanage in Ghana, Africa, called "The Village of Hope." There are over 200 kiddo's reaching out to be penpals. Our girls are sooooo excited to be two of them and to have new friends in the form of penpals ... God moves in such awesome ways. And, then there is Katie and Amazima. Katie, inadvertantly, became an inspiration, for our oldest daughter in particular, for doing hard things because God gives you strength. What God is accomplishing through Katie in Uganda, East Africa, is nothing short of miraculous. May He get all the praise. Oh, and can't forget to mention my precious Alece, who heads up Thrive Africa in Harrismith, South Africa. So, here is our rock of Africa ....
And, here are a few of God's hearts ....
The last one is a very cool mushroom ... God is good, all the time, and His heart is FOR His people. I love our Daddy!

love seeing God's heart for Africa reflected in YOUR heart for Africa...
...for those who have eyes to see!... LOVE these! you girls are getting good at seeing God's 'love' in His creation! and really like that mushroom...way too cool! :) love to you all!
wow, debra! just did a quick (relatively) trip through some of Katie's blog... i'm speechless. what an amazing heart for God and for His!!! truly inspiring! how did you discover her?
I can't recall how I ran across her blog, but I was touched immediately. She is a young girl doing "hard things" for the Lord's glory. I am always inspired to introduce my kids to young women of God, so we started following her story. Thank you, Miss Sharilyn, for inspiring us to look for God's "heart!" We love you!
Oh... I just love the fact that your girls have inherited your beautiful outlook.
Just trying to get back into the blog world a bit and wanted to check in on you. Hope you're feeling well these days :)
