Missing these precious children God gave us to love on for a season. The top two are gone elsewhere and the bottom one we still have the blessing of communicating with. They are "the least of these." (Matthew 25:34-40) They are the ones God calls us to love. They didn't choose their lot in life. None of it. And, they would leave it in a heartbeat for something else. They are angry and hurting and joyful and loving and beautiful and funny and I would adopt them all ... "the least of these." They have a huge hole God is filling in ways they couldn't have thought of and still don't see and it is humbling to watch. God's ways are not our ways, but they are always perfect ways. I have thought often of the kids in other countries, who are underprivileged and unloved and given away and struggling, as the "the least of these." And, truly, they are and they need His help through us. And God, in His amazing grace, has been showing me "the least of these" in our own life. The ones He is putting in our path to love on, learn from, encourage, hug, feed, dress, be a safe place, help as best we can and point to Jesus, always point to Jesus, even in our brokenness. Heaven will be full of "the least of these." The imperfect, crazy-looking, giving, loving, servant-hearted, amazing "least of these." I can't wait to hang out with them!
